แปลว่า         : อนุสัญญาค่าครองชีพ

หมายถึง      : อนุสัญญาในสัญญาการจ้างงานของสหภาพ ซึ่งกำหนดให้มีการเพิ่มเงินค่าครองชีพในอัตราค่าจ้าง เพื่อให้สมดุลต่อการเปลี่ยนแปลงของราคาสินค้า ตามปกติจะถือเอาดัชนีราคาสินค้าเป็นมาตรฐานสำหรับการเปลี่ยนแปลงของราคา

A Clause in he union contract which orivides for a cost-of-living increase in wages by relating wages to changes

in consumer prices. Usually the Consumer Price Index is used as the measure of price changes.

The process of investigating, assembling and reporting all facts surrounding a labor-management dispute, and

possibly also making recommendations for its resolution. Fact-finding is conducted by an official agency, usually a fact-finding board. Unlike arbitration, it is not binding on the disputants. However,strikes and lockouts are prohibited until the  fact-finding procedure is completed; this is referred o as the "cooling-off" period. Fact-finding as an intermediate stage in the labor-management relationaship : it is implemented after the grievance in the collective agreement has been exhausted to no avail, and mediation or conciliation has failed to resolve the dispute, but before arbitration is employed.

แปลว่า        : สัญญาข้อตกลงร่วม

หมายถึง     : สัญญาซึ่งลงนามโดย นายจ้าง (หรือกลุ่มนายจ้าง) และสหภาพแรงงานกำหนดข้อความและเงื่อนไขสภาพการจ้างของผู้ใช้แรงงาน ซึ่งอยู่ภายใต้ข้อตกลง กำหนดสถานะภาพหรือสัมพันธภาพของสหภาพที่มีต่อนายจ้าง วิธีการร้องทุกข์เพื่อจะได้ข้อยุติ สำหรับกรณีพิพาทต่าง ๆ ที่จะเกิดขึ้นในระหว่างสัญญามีผลบังคับใช้

A Contract sign by an employer (or grop of employers) and a union specifying yhe terms and condiotions of

employment of those covered by the contract, the status or relation of the union to the employer, and grievance procedures to be used for setting disputes arising during that term of the contract.

แปลว่า         : การจ้างที่เป็นธรรม

หมายถึง      : กฎหมายซึ่งห้ามมิให้นายจ้างเลือกปฏิบัติในการว่าจ้าง การกำหนดให้ดำรงตำแหน่ง หรือการเลื่อนตำแหน่งของลูกจ้าง หรือห้ามมิให้สหภาพเลือกปฏิบัติต่อผู้สมัครเข้าเป็นสมาชิก เนื่องจากเผ่าพันธุ์ผิว ศาสนา หรือเชื้อชาติดั้งเดิม ฯลฯ

Legislation which makes it unlawful for an employer to discriminate in the hiring, tenure, or promotion of

employees, or for unions to disciminate against applicants for membership, because of race, color, religion, or national origin.
